Secure Digital Signatures
ImageNow Document Control Suite includes a robust Digital Signature capability that uses Suite-B-certified PKI encryption algorithms and makes both document management and digital signatures available via web services.
Users with the document signing privilege are able to sign ImageNow documents — including annotations — from either the ImageNow client or WebNow user interfaces. As a document is routed through ImageNow Workflow, additional signers may add their signature to the document or verify existing signatures. Verification is an automated check used to confirm the integrity of the document — to confirm that no changes have been made since the document was signed.
Digital signatures provide four benefits for ImageNow documents:
Authenticity provides proof of the identity of the individual who signs a document.
Data Integrity ensures that the document has not been altered by a third party.
Nonrepudiation prevents the signer of a document from later denying association with that document.
Confidentiality ensures that data is only readable to the sender and the intended recipient, providing protection from third-party snooping.
ImageNow Digital Signature technology conforms to National Security Agency-approved Suite B cryptography standards. Suite B uses cryptographic algorithms including Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for encryption, Elliptical Curve Cryptography (ECC) for digital signatures and key exchange, as well as the FIPS 180-2 Secure Hash Algorithm.
