Server Failover Clustering
Because ECM systems are complex and can reach into every corner of your business, “Spec one, build two” is the motto of system architects who require the highest level of system uptime.
ImageNow is cluster-ready on all platforms.
When configured as a cluster, the ImageNow Server, agents, database and OSM run the same as they do in a nonclustered system, but under control of third-party cluster software that manages a failover if necessary. Such a configuration includes two ImageNow Server nodes, an active database server cluster and shared SAN or NAS storage containing the OSM, database files and essential server directories.
Failover cluster software monitors the heartbeat of the system and determines whether server processes are running and resources are available. If a failure is detected, the cluster software controls the failover to a new node and launches ImageNow on that node.
WebNow, the browser-based ImageNow client, can be configured with a Network Load Balancing (NLB) clustered application server to enhance both scalability and availability. In addition, WebNow NLB clustering includes session affinity or “sticky sessions” to ensure the integrity of open files for each user session.
