Scott Coons - President and CEO

Scott Coons
President & CEO

Scott Coons joined Perceptive Software in 1995 and has piloted the company to a substantial and sustained period of growth. Early on, Coons refocused the company's market strategy, and under his guidance, Perceptive Software has become a leading developer of enterprise document management, imaging and workflow software.

An engineer with customer focus, Coons also established a long-term vision for the company's flagship product, ImageNow. His role today includes contributions in strategic guidance, tactical implementation, executive team leadership and architecture/design leadership for the product's technical evolution.

Coons began his career as a software engineer with the University of Kansas after graduating from KU with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. In 2006, Coons was honored as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® and a Computerworld Honors Program Laureate.

Coons is an advisory board member of the Kansas State University College of Business Administration and the University of Kansas School of Engineering. In addition, he is a founding member of the Software and Information Technology Association of Kansas (SITAKS) board of directors, a statewide trade association created by the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC).

Cary DeCamp - Executive Vice President, Strategic Initiatives

Cary DeCamp joined Perceptive Software in 1996, leading the early charge for securing new customers. DeCamp's success in building the higher education market created important momentum that spread quickly to other verticals.

To support the needs of a growing company, DeCamp assembled an in-house marketing and communications team that leads demand generation and marketing communications. Under DeCamp's direction, the marketing team is responsible for setting the company's communications and messaging strategy and driving global marketing efforts. 

Before joining Perceptive Software, DeCamp was director of sales for DMJK Consulting, a system integration and application development service provider. Previous experience also includes owning an accounting software company, serving as director of sales for Triad Technology Group and working as a senior systems consultant for Coopers & Lybrand. DeCamp graduated from Union College in Lincoln, Neb., with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

DeCamp is a member of the Board of Trustees at Union College, serves on the Shawnee Mission Medical Center Operating Finance Committee and is a member of the Technology Advisory Council for the University of Kansas School of Business.

Darren Knipp - Chief Technology Office, Vice President of Products and Solutions

As Chief Operating Officer, Darren Knipp provides strategic and operational leadership for Perceptive’s global customer-facing operations--including worldwide sales, professional services, support, business development, and cloud services.

In this role, Knipp works in concert with the CEO to develop and cascade the organization's strategic vision throughout the company, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, and is responsible to the CEO and Board of Directors for optimizing resources to create maximum shareholder value.

Since joining Perceptive in 2003, Darren has led the evolution of Perceptive Software’s products and solutions, worked closely with the support and services teams, and helped secure Perceptive’s largest and most complex sales wins and partnerships.

Prior to 2003, Knipp was a Product Manager at Interwoven (now Autonomy), served as Senior Engineering Manager for Boeing, and as an officer in the United States Air Force, working as a Development Engineer on the Global Positioning System (GPS) and various NRO systems.

Knipp received a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and a master’s in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas. He also holds an MA in Business from Webster University.

John Hoogland

As the head of Perceptive Software’s BPM business, John Hoogland oversees the BPM product and solution strategy in coordination with the product management team. In this role, Hoogland is responsible for advancing the company’s process management capabilities and roadmap, driving global growth of the company’s document output, process visualization, business process and case management offerings.

Prior to joining Perceptive Software, Hoogland was chief executive officer of Pallas Athena, a Netherlands-based BPM software company he founded in 1993. Before that, Hoogland worked at Phillips Research specializing in process automation.

Hoogland received a law degree from the University of Amsterdam.

Marjorie Adair - Vice President, Corporate Finance

Since 2002, Marge Adair has successfully framed Perceptive Software's strategic initiatives within the context of responsible fiscal policy. Adair leads the finance and accounting teams, working closely with auditors, tax accountants and attorneys to apply sound accounting and forecasting practices to Perceptive Software's expansion goals. In addition to looking out for the financial health of the company, Adair oversees the HR and administration teams, which provide internal, company-wide service and support. She has molded these divisions around the understanding that Perceptive Software and its employees are their customers.

Adair brings 20+ years of experience as the controller for several technology firms including the Windward Group and NetCom (now Earthlink). She earned dual degrees in business management and accounting from the University of Denver and received her M.B.A. from Rockhurst University. Adair was honored by the Kansas City Business Journal as a member of the 2006 class of Women Who Mean Business.

Brent Flanders - Vice President, Technical Services

With 16 years of success in the technology industry, Brent Flanders cites exceptional customer service combined with technical brilliance as his top priority. Since joining Perceptive Software in 2002, Flanders has shaped the technical services division to provide a solid business platform from which Perceptive Software delivers quality service from implementation through training and support.

From a customer point of view, someone else was here before. Flanders understands this and knows that even to be considered acceptable, his team and Perceptive Software as a whole must surpass the best each competitor or predecessor had to offer. While Flanders evangelizes the service quotient daily, he combines proven mechanisms, processes and procedures with exceptionally skilled individuals to exceed customers' expectations.

Flanders earned a degree in pharmacy at the University of Kansas in 1984. While practicing pharmacy he started a then-unique computer dealership, MacSource, which provided solutions and support for the fledgling electronic publishing industry. After MacSource, Flanders held executive-level positions at pharmaceutical and computer technology firms including the precursor to Perceptive Software.

Patrick Kearney - Vice President, Professional Services

Patrick Kearney joined Perceptive Software in 2006, after 16 years of overseeing successful, enterprise-wide ERP initiatives for global customers. Kearney has applied his leadership and development background to the expansion of the rapidly growing professional services division.

Kearney has refined the established processes of the organization's professional services arm, and has applied a global awareness aligned with the organization’s ongoing corporate strategies. In addition, he has effectively guided the expansion of the professional services division to keep pace with Perceptive Software's consistent customer growth.

A veteran of Andersen Consulting, Kearney advanced to become vice president and managing partner of Clarkston Consulting, a management and consulting firm specializing in consumer products, life services and manufacturing industries. There he served as the face of multi-million-dollar customer ERP implementations, strategic ERP initiatives and Supply Chain Management. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College.

David Lintz - Vice President, Sales

As vice president of sales for North America, David Lintz leads Perceptive Software’s direct sales team responsible for all new and existing business. The North American sales team focuses primarily on growing and maintaining business in the healthcare, education, financial services, government and retail industries.

Prior to assuming this role in 2009, Lintz was director of sales for commercial markets. He joined Perceptive Software as an account executive in 2002 with more than 12 years of enterprise content management and related software industry experience across a broad range of industries and roles.

Lintz earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Missouri and a master's degree in business administration from Baker University.

Dennis Cunningham - Vice President, Global Alliances and Programs

Dennis Cunningham has been vice president of global alliances and programs for Perceptive Software since 2009. He is responsible for the global community of partners and the Perceptive Software programs that support them, ensuring the company leverages partner expertise to enable growth in the U.S. and internationally. He also oversees pre-sales and sales operations.

Previously, Cunningham was director of sales for public sector markets, including education and government. Before joining Perceptive Software in 2003, Cunningham was a technology sales leader serving the higher education industry for more than 15 years.

Cunningham earned a bachelor's degree in business communications from the University of Kansas.

Lynne Wilson

As vice president of Cloud Solutions for Perceptive Software, Lynne Wilson oversees the company's software-as-a-service (SaaS) and subscription business unit. In this role, Wilson is focused on driving the cloud strategy. Appointed to the position in 2011, she is responsible for further developing the company’s cloud infrastructure, accelerating growth, expanding internationally, increasing revenues, reducing operating costs, and providing customers with excellent service.

Working at Perceptive since 2009, Wilson was previously vice president of information technology. Wilson's responsibilities included defining and implementing the company’s IT strategy to support its overall business strategy, directing the enterprise’s IT organization to optimize its day-to-day effectiveness, and ensuring the company the best value for its investment in IT infrastructure, applications and services.

A seasoned business professional, Wilson has 22 years of experience delivering global enterprise solutions to a wide variety of industries. Before joining Perceptive Software, she held executive level positions with four of the leading global business management and IT consulting firms – Arthur Andersen LLP, PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, IBM and CSC – where she worked with executives to identify the right technology solutions to sustain or to gain a leading edge within their industry.

Wilson has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Central Missouri.

Paul Hunt - Vice President of International Sales

Paul Hunt is Vice President of International Sales at Perceptive Software, responsible for leading the company’s sales and business development efforts outside North America.

Hunt first started working with Perceptive Software in 1996, as the company’s first international reseller of ImageNow. He officially joined Perceptive Software in 1999, leading the formation of Perceptive Software UK and building a UK customer base. After a stint away from Perceptive Software, Hunt rejoined the company in his current role in May 2005. Since rejoining the company, Hunt has helped to establish foundations for an international business, serving all regions outside of North America through a combination of direct and channel partner sales.

Hunt holds a joint bachelor’s of arts honours degree in economics and government from the University of Essex as well as a post graduate diploma in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has 20 years of sales, marketing and channel experience with companies including Veritas, Hewlett Packard and Compaq. Hunt recently relocated to Perceptive Software’s headquarters in Shawnee, Kan., to oversee expansion of the company’s international sales teams.
